10-4 (Ten for) Sustainability 12/21/2011

What if there were a global sustainability movement which every day was committing 10 minutes per day to increase awareness of and participation in knowledge, education and promotion of sustainability? Would you join? What if it had no leaders, if everyone had to find a place within it on a daily basis. Sometimes people would choose a support for others role, sometimes a role as a content producer - would that be tougher to commit time to than one in which everyone parroted a sustainability line for 10 minutes a day like some sort of pledge of alleigence to sustainability.

Well, I'm one for sustainability and I'm looking for ten for sustainability within my time zone. As my schedule permits, I'll commit 10 minutes a day (minimum) between 4 minutes and 14 minutes after the hour, six days a week to further the spread of information and commitment to sustainable ways of living on Earth. Now, in order for it to be a global movement, ideally every hour around the clock there will be people participating in the movement - it will always be 10:04 twice a day in each time zone. So, if I can't participate in an activity in my time zone at 10:04-10:14, I can help promote the efforts of others in other time zones, depending on my schedule that day. I'll be doing this while using the hashtag #10-4Sustainability on both Twitter and Facebook.

Will you be one of the first 10 to join me in doing this in my time zone?

Update: we now have a 10-4 Sustainability Facebook group to help coordinate, share, connect and support each other. Please come join us if you feel called to participate in this experiment!

No idea what timezone you are in but Yes I would join for my timezone Central European time, that is: for the PM 100% and the AM 10-50% as I'm normally active for my employer during those times!
Anyway, I love your mission and I am in!

You can count me in as an outsider down here on the other side of the earth.. in a different time a different place but my 10 min is yours!
I like this idea!
Cheers

Committed. This is great. I have also started #ss Sustainable Sunday (or Saturday) to connect people who want to find community, but aren't a part of EA, and sometimes have low klout (it's just not their focus. My sustainability work is done primarily through my twitter feed (@uberECOcool) ond my CB page by the same name. See you there!

I like this idea, and I do think it might work. Perhaps setting a schedule that even if you were working, you could apply the schedule otherwise it wouldn't work for everyone.

I've just created a Facebook group called 10-4 Sustainability as a way to help people have a central location to connect and share sustainability content.

http://www.facebook.com/groups/157156464389846/

It's an open group, so add people IF (and only if) you feel they'll be interested. no one likes getting added to groups they have no interest in being a part of AmIRight?

Great idea. My own schedule is too erratic at present to commit, but I'll do all I can to support and spread the word!
